Don't Get Cooked: Protect Your Skin

Everyone loves the summer sunshine, but it’s important to be skin-smart when the UV rays are at their most brutal. Go beyond SPF with our guide to pre-summer prep, post summer repair and healthy skin habits to keep all year long.

Problem: Face it. As skin ages, it naturally loses moisture and elasticity, which is most noticeable in your face.

Solution: Water, water and more water. Drink eight 8oz glasses of water every day to cleanse impurities and have healthy-looking skin from the inside out. Also, apply moisturizer to your face every day. Try Ponds® Bio-Hydratante Hydration Cream. It cleanses and moisturizes leaving feeling soft and fresh.

Problem: You are what you eat. Work, kids, carpools — life gets busy, and when you slack on what you put inside your body, it shows through to the outside.

Solution: Squeeze in a daytime snack of raw carrots, tomatoes and red peppers. They contain nutrients that can protect your skin cells. Try them with an easy Veggie Ranch Dip.

Problem: No matter what skin tone you have, skin burns in the sun, even on a cloudy day.

Solution: Get some shade! Avoid highly reflective surfaces, such as sand, concrete and water. Beach umbrellas, limited pool time, cover-ups and brimmed hats help shield skin from harmful rays. And of course, wear sunscreen.

Problem: You “accidentally” didn’t follow the previous tip above and you got burned!

Solution: Vaseline® Intensive Care™ Aloe Soothe Lotion gives skin a refreshing moisture boost. Store it in the refrigerator for an extra cooling sensation.

Skincare doesn’t just start and stop with summer. Follow these tips so you and your skin can glow all year long.
